In December 21, 2016, the fourteenth meeting of the central economic and economic leadership team stressed the promotion of clean heating in winter in the north, and a rapid upsurge of clean heating and renovation work in various places. A number of pollution control and clean heating programs and policies have been launched in 2017, which effectively promoted the development of clean heating.

       In December 2017, the 10 ministries and committees of the State Development and Reform Commission jointly issued the "northern winter clean and warm planning (2017~2021 years)". The clean heating in the northern areas was deployed in detail in the north, indicating that the cleaning and heating work in 2018 will be more scientific and more scientific.

        Electric power is the main force for clean heating

       In May 2017, the 4 ministries of the Ministry of finance, Ministry of housing, Ministry of environmental protection and Energy Bureau decided to carry out the central financial support for the pilot work of clean heating in the northern region in winter. The central finance supports the pilot cities to push the clean way for heating, instead of the coal burning and heating. The pilot demonstration period is 3 years. The municipalities directly under the central government arrange 1 billion yuan each year, the provincial capital cities are arranged for 700 million yuan a year, and the cities of the prefecture level are arranged for 500 million yuan a year. Tianjin, Shijiazhuang, Tangshan, Langfang and other 12 cities have applied for successful pilot projects.
